Strong Gains Expected for Wall Street

The surge yesterday was enough to push the Dow Jones Industrial Average above the 10,000-point threshold at the closing bell, but the outlook for today does not seem to have such great gains in store. After struggling a bit at the opening bell stocks have forged ahead on Wall Street.

Sharp Drop for Stocks

Though markets did finish in the red yesterday that slump is no comparison to the enormous drop at the open Tuesday. Within one hour American markets were down roughly 2 percent, pushing the Dow Jones below 10,000 points once again.

Shaky Start for Stocks

Investors yesterday showed that they were more at ease with the European debt crisis, but they are unwilling to have a second push today until more indicators are reported. As a result, markets opened flat in New York this morning. With global market gains already in the books the outlook for the rest of the day still seems promising.

Wall Street Unsettled

One day of increases does not seem to be enough to put investor worries to rest. The outlook for the morning is an index-wide drop in composite share prices, with some stabilization later in the day.
