The slump Thursday was largely the result of deepening fears among investors that the United States would not be able to sustain the run it made during the Spring. Economic growth is slowing when it needs to be accelerating, and corporations are still in flux about how to view the latest financial reform.

According to CNNMoney.com, domestic stocks will struggle with worse-than-expected figures from AIG weighed against improving GDP growth from the fourth quarter of last year.

Markets surged Friday morning, largely spurred by a huge jump in America’s quarterly gross domestic product numbers.

The GDP report proves that our “recovery” is not nearly on par with our rate of decline.
