Stocks Retreat on Jobs Report

The trading day on Wednesday could not have possibly been less impressive on Wall Street. Unfortunately for investors, trading today is even worse. Wall Street opened higher at 9 a.m. this morning, but those quick gains were short-lived.

Shaky Start for Stocks

Investors yesterday showed that they were more at ease with the European debt crisis, but they are unwilling to have a second push today until more indicators are reported. As a result, markets opened flat in New York this morning. With global market gains already in the books the outlook for the rest of the day still seems promising.

Stock Gains Could be Limited

Markets seemed set for an early jump this morning, but that is no guarantee of a strong finish. Stocks started well during trading Monday, but yet another downgrade of Greece’s debt rating led to an afternoon sell-off.

Rosy Start Projected for Stocks

Stocks were projected to jump at the opening bell, and each of the major indices has lived up to expectations in the first hours. The volume of trading could be a bit lower with no major economic reports due out today.
