After a surge during trading yesterday markets were expected to jump at the opening bell Friday morning. Analysts projected that U.S. investments would hold up into Memorial Day weekend if European markets could stay above water.

Markets rebounded vigorously during the morning. The Dow Jones Industrial Average put on nearly 200 points and both the NASDAQ and S&P 500 were up more than 2 percent by 11 a.m.

Stocks opened with gains in the morning Wednesday, surging on the optimism of a strong comeback yesterday.

The majority of the downward momentum on investment indexes is still coming from Europe, but the 24-hour cycle is also adding to the downturn.
