Stocks set to Rise

As quickly as stocks had fallen yesterday they turned around and drove back up the hill this morning. Wall Street was up well over 1 percent in the morning and investment was riding high.

Strong Gains Expected for Wall Street

The surge yesterday was enough to push the Dow Jones Industrial Average above the 10,000-point threshold at the closing bell, but the outlook for today does not seem to have such great gains in store. After struggling a bit at the opening bell stocks have forged ahead on Wall Street.

Stocks Rise on European Financial Data

Luckily for investors, the holiday layoff seems to have been just what was needed to encourage a nice rally Tuesday morning. The Dow Jones roared through the first hour, pushing up 164 points. The NASDAQ and S&P 500 reacted with even more vigor.

Weak Day for Stocks

Analysts with CNNMoney.com project a weak open today, perhaps culminating in another net loss for the world’s largest stock exchanges. The third fiscal quarter of 2010 begins today, but the lackluster performance of the last three months will likely weigh heavily on the future.
